Panel Discussion

Group members should collaborate on coming up with answers to the following questions to be presented in class as a panel discussion.

While some class time will be available for team work and consultation (usually at the end of a class), you should plan on meeting with your team occasionally outside of class and/or within ANGEL.

A work space will be created for each team on ANGEL where you can communicate with each other via email, discussion board postings, and/or chat.

Everyone in the group should speak to at least one question.

The Panel Discussion should last 20-25 minutes.  I will cut you off after 25 minutes so be sure you plan the discussion carefully and rehearse the presentation.

Analytical Essay

Choose an aspect of the work that you find particularly intriguing to analyze.
Some suggestions include character analysis, use of imagery or figures of speech, use of archetypes, political or social context, a theme that plays out in the work, etc.
Research your topic and write an analytical essay of 5-7 pages (1200-1600 words).
Be sure your essay has a unifying thesis.
The essay must include citations from at least 3 scholarly sources -- those are the ones that you find in the library or online via LINCC's electronic resources.
While sources such as WIKIPEDIA can be valuable for background research, they are not considered authoritative scholarly sources.
MLA formatting and documentation must be followed scrupulously.
