1. Describe the setting of the story.  How does the setting help to create the mood or tone of the story?

 

 

 

 

2. Who is the protagonist of the story?  What kind of conflict faces the protagonist?  Is s/he a dynamic or static protagonist?

 

 

 

3.  Are the characters in the story round or flat?  Why does the author create them in that manner?  Do stereotypes arise from the characters?

 

 

 

4.  How is the story's plot organized?  What is the effect of the organization on the telling of the story?

 

 

 

5. What is the genre of the story?  What conventions define the genre?  Does the author bend the genre's conventions or borrow from another genre's conventions?  To what effect?
