Unit test questions will be drawn from in class lectures and concepts
covered in class that can also be found in the text, Concise
Handbook of Public Speaking by
Beebe and Beebe. If
you need special assistance in testing, please contact me prior to the
test.
Make-up
exams will be permitted only in extreme instances and must be approved
by the instructor. You
will be responsible to go to the Testing Center in the Korcheck building
to schedule your test time and to get a testing referral form. After you
fill out the form either give it to me personally or leave it in my mailbox
in building #3. No
make up exams will be permitted during finals week.
There
will be two exams. IT IS VITAL TO YOUR SUCCESS THAT YOU TAKE NOTES IN
CLASS. Not all of the material covered in your exams will be in the text.
The exams are short essay. The format will remain consistent. I will ask
you to list, describe, and give me an example of the concepts that we
cover in class. For instance: A. List 3 ways to begin a speech, B. Give
a written example of each, C. Which would you use in a speech to persuade
an audience to wear their seat belt?
Unit Test #1 The exam will include questions about
the Panel and Moderator roles in a group, The Dewey Sequence, ABCD communication
styles, and stagefright.
