RedHat 8.0 Install 1/27/2003 This was my easiest install of any GUI OS ever. I had to use the newer version of partition Magic to partition my Windows system. Then I set CMOS to Autoboot from CD. I accepted almost all defaults and found full Plug and Play for my Dell. RedHat automatically detected my Internet connection. GRUB dual boot (between RedHat and DOS – Windows) automatically set up. RedHat walked me through an update from Internet right up front. Open Office was installed and works much like MS Office. Before I could load from a floppy, I had to right-click on the desktop and Mount the Floppy. Then I had to browse to the mnt folder to find the files on the floppy. It automatically read my MS formatted floppy. It loaded my text files, Word .doc files, and Excel files. When I went to my home folder I could Ctrl X, Ctrl C, Ctrl V files. I could also double-click the file to autopen file and app, just like Windows.
