Choose a living poet writing in English (if you speak another language than English, you may choose a poet writing in that language IF you can also find English translations of his/her poems). You will create a casebook on the poet and present the poet to the class. |

Cover page (5 pts) Table of contents (5 pts) Brief biography of the poet (100-250 words) with a picture of the poet (5 pts) 10 of your favorite poems by the poet (20 pts) Xeroxes or printouts of 2 critical reviews of the poet (20 pts) An analytical close-reading of one poem or a comparison/contrast of two poems by the poet (1000-1500 words) (75 pts) MLA formatted Bibliography -- must contain a citation for each poem, the poet's biographical information, the two critical reviews, and any other information used in the casebook (20 pts) Total for Casebook (150 pts) Oral Presentation (50 pts) |
