EACH GROUP WILL
PRESENT ITS PLAY TO THE CLASS
-
The group can choose
a variety of presentation methods from the academic to the creative as long as
the presentation clearly outlines the plot and
purpose of the
play and some theatrical
techniques used by
the playwright.
-
The
group may create a video, a PowerPoint presentation, a performance, a panel
discussion with handouts, or some other form of presentation.
-
A group
discussion forum will be available on ANGEL for the group to
collaborate, work on a PPT, chat, etc.
-
Each group's presentation
should last approximately 20 minutes and distill the essence of the play for
class (plot summary should take up no more than 1/3 of the
presentation).
-
Each member of the group must participate in some way in the group
presentation to the class.
-
The audience should leave the group's presentation
with a good grasp of what the playwright was trying to accomplish.

DRAMA ESSAY
Choose an aspect of
the play about which to write a 750 word essay.
You may analyze a character, trace a motif through the play, describe the political, religious, or
sociological intent of the play, or some other aspect that intrigues
you. You must include some research -- at least three scholarly secondary (critical)
sources -- which are included in textual and Works Cited citations following
correct MLA documentation. You must use sources that have been published
in books or literary journals -- no
student essays. If you are
researching your play on the internet, the best place to find academic critical
sources is MCC's Electronic Library.

Samples. PLEASE -- if you have any
questions about
correct MLA documentation -- see me or get help in the ARC!
