Arthurian Film Assignment

Watch a film or video based on the Arthurian legend.  Films most likely to be available at your local video store are listed below.  Our library also has a copy of Excalibur if you would like to watch it in the library.  A comprehensive list of Arthurian films  is available on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

In your journal entry discuss: 

•  how faithful the film is to the original Arthurian legend(s), 
• what contemporary adaptations has the filmmaker made to the story 
• the basic theme of the film and how it relates to original Arthurian themes 
• why the filmmaker has chosen to adapt this legend for his/her film.

Be prepared to discuss your film in class and compare it with the Arthurian works we have read.
