Week 1
January 8-11

Watch the video Innana; start thinking about the Goddess Project . Read Leeming and Page's Goddess. Introduce yourself to the class and trace your matrilineage. Discuss your reaction to the video either this week or next (but before January 18).

Week 2
January 12-18

 Read Women Poets: pp.1-23, 29-46, 62-65, 103-06, 420-428 Post  your choice of goddess to the WebBoard -- 1st come, 1st served. Discuss the "mother" who has had the most influence on your life (it need not be your actual mother). Think of influence both in positive and negative terms.

Week 3
January 19-25

Read Heilbrun's "Writing a Woman's Life" in Daughters of the Revolution, pp. 63-75  Discuss your favorite woman writer -- novelist, poet, lyricist, journalist, whatever --what do you like about her writing? Why does she move you? What are her strengths as a writer?

Week 4
January 26 - 31

January 30: CLASS--present Goddess Project and turn in Goddess Notebook.
Before you prepare your project, check out Tools for Writing and Research. Read: Writing about Literature and Errors That Drive Jones Crazy and review Sample List of MLA Citations
 Discuss what you have learned from the readings and the Goddess Project. 
I expect your work to adhere to MLA Format and to be written in acceptable standard English!
