GUIDELINES FOR REVIEW OF AN AUTHOR'S READING
1. Find out as much as possible about the author or authors before you go. If possible, read some of the work by the author(s). 2. Your review should include the name of the author(s), the location and date of the presentation. 3. Discuss the kind of presentation given by the author -- did the author discuss his/her work, read from his/her work, discuss other authors' works? 4. Comment on how the author's presentation contributes to your appreciation of the work. 5. If the author is available after the presentation, try to ask him/her an interesting question or two. 6. Go back and read the author's work again. How did the presentation affect your understanding and appreciation of the work? 7. If you use quotes or paraphrases from outside sources in your review, document them according to the MLA Style. |
