Procedure for Assigning Home Web Pages to Instructors

1.      Instructor contacts Web Development by placing a Feedback Request in the MCC Internet, please include your full name, and the Department you work for.

2.      Web Development creates a Folder and Account for the Instructor in the Web Server. This information will be sent to you via email.

3.      Web Development creates a template page for the instructor and contacts the instructor. When the instructor is ready, Web Development shows her/him how to obtain it through FTP procedure and teaches the instructor on how to use the template by using Word or Dreamweaver.

4.      Instructor completes template and lets Web Development know when it is ready to be put online. The new site created by the instructor will not be online until Web Development has a chance to check it. The instructor should include all other files that need to be added to their site. See page 2 of this procedure for recommended file structure.

5.      Web Developing Team checks Template and puts the pages online.

7. Web Developing Team adds instructor’s name to email list of Web Faculty List.

Procedure for Assigning WebCT Courses to Instructors

Please have in mind that in order to request a WebCT Course you need to have been trained to use the software.

1. In your request for your Home Web Page include the course subject, course number, days of the week the course will be taught and if teaching different sections of the same course the time of the day also.

2. When you request a WebCT course there are several choices you have to pick from:

a. You can have a "Blank" course where you populate all the information.

b. You can have a "Copy" from previous courses you have taught at the MCC WebCT server. In this case you just have to modify the dates for the corresponding semester.

c. You can use an "E-Pack" from the publishers of your book. In this case you will have to include further instructions on how we can obtain that E-Pack from you or from your publisher.

3. Web Development will proceed to create your course and new account if necessary and will notify you via email when your site is ready to be used.
